Modeling
The Environmental Protection Agency has adopted several inexpensive peer reviewed software models for determining the migration of hydrocarbon contaminants leaked into the subgrade. The acceptance of low cost models has allowed Action Environmental to assist its clients in significantly reducing remediation costs. Modeling efforts costing $50,000 are now well below $10,000. Modeling is a low cost remedial alternative which may be used in combination, or in lieu of expensive cleanup actions. Contact (302) 798-3100 to discuss whether modeling can solve or remove your land use problem.

Risk Based Corrective Action (RBCA)
Regulators are currently considering natural degradation alternatives to costly active remediation for Brownfields and other active remedial action sites. These alternatives are based on exposure risk to human health and the environment. Quite simply, if exposure pathways, such as ingestion, inhalation and dermal absorption do not exist, then regulators are willing to allow contaminants to remain in place and degrade naturally over long periods of time.

Phyto-remediation
Also known as Geobotany, is the use of specific plants (vegetation) to absorb complex organics or metals and produce clean soils. This is a low cost remedial alternative for clients with time and patience. Contact (302) 798-3100 to discuss whether Phyto-remediation can solve your land use problem.

ISO 14000 - Heard of it yet?
ISO 14000 offers benefits to the environment by assisting companies in taking proactive steps towards environmental management and awareness.
ISO 14000 consists of the following five major parts:

  1. Environmental Management Systems (EMS)
  2. Environmental Auditing
  3. Environmental Performance Evaluation (EPE)
  4. Environmental Labeling
  5. Life-cycle Assessment

Action Environmental has ISO 14000 Certified Auditors to perform standard evaluations and inspections, recommend improvements and help implement the program processes. Basically, our auditor will assess whether or not a company's environmental management system meets the ISO 14000 standard requirements. For more information, contact Action Environmental at (302) 798-3100.
